I have worked in the construction industry for around 30 years, spending most of that time with Davis Langdon, AECOM and Faithful+Gould, where I held positions from trainee to regional director, most recently leading the cost management team in Cardiff. My early experience was in the education sector, delivering primary, secondary and higher education projects. More recently I have been delivering private residential schemes, including student accommodation and build to rent (BTR).
I have a proven track record of delivering high value, highly complex projects, and I can equally deliver simpler, more straightforward schemes. I take the time to fully understand stakeholder requirements and put in place a clear project strategy that works in any sector.
My experience has given me a comprehensive knowledge of construction methods, and I manage the economic and commercial aspects of projects from feasibility through to final account, drawing on local construction costs and benchmark studies. I think laterally to find alternative solutions that meet the client’s strategic objectives.
Why did I join Glyndwr? It’s simple really. It gives me the chance to make a difference and offer a fully independent quantity surveying service.
I was born and bred in Wales, growing up in Newport. I have a fantastic family with two young children, and I’m a keen golfer, having played first team golf for many years. During lockdown I took on a very different project, well out of my comfort zone, restoring a Land Rover Defender. The nearly finished vehicle reflects the vision and attention to detail I bring to every project.
